Highlighting your outer beauty always starts from within. It starts with being confident in yourself and your abilities as a person and as an individual. Never forget that in order to maintain balance, you must strive to be yourself in all aspects of your life, both on a personal level and also on a professional level, as you interface and interact from your family, friends and colleagues.
To help you achieve beauty from the inside out, through self-esteem, and makeup and skin care, we have pulled together some great advice;
What to do
What NOT to do
Do portray confidence in your engagements
First of all, always try to improve your self confidence. Often,, people can easily determine how you perceive yourself by your outward actions - namely, your body language. Portraying confidence from the inside out shows others you’re self-confident, and in turn, they will feel assurance in what you can achieve, whether it be professional or personal. When you feel beautiful, you will appear self-assured and positive.
Do love your personal and professional life
When you are happy and at peace with your life, both personally and professionally, you will exude positivity to all, and this will also draw them in..... into your positivity in fact.
It is so important to be true to yourself and to love where you are in your life - whether it be your age, your profession, or the people you surround yourself with. If you are overwhelmed by uncertainties, unhappiness, as well as stress, it will be obvious not only to you internally, but externally in your actions and your appearance. While it might be difficult to manage, every little bit counts.
Do strive to maintain balance
Living a balanced life is proven to minimize stress while helping you to enjoy a great sense of fulfillment. Find the formula that works best for you. Everything in moderation applies to both eating habits, personal habits and professional - even beauty habits. Aim to divide your time appropriately so that every area of your life is receiving close to equal time and focus for greater ease and overall happiness.
Do treat your body as a temple
Be sure to focus not only on your outward beauty, but your inward beauty as well. Take care of your body by drinking plenty of water. This will give your skin a fresh, hydrated glow. It’s important to eat a healthy, fresh, and balanced diet, as well as making an effort to exercise regularly will absolutely insure that you look and feel your best! While quality, nutrient-rich makeup, and skincare products are very important to your have in your beauty regimen, it’s equally important to give your body the nutrients it needs on the inside.
Do not compare yourself to others
Focus on being the best you. You don't need to compare nor strive to be someone else. You want to highlight your personal, positive attributes to achieve beauty from the inside out. It’s so important to focus on your greatest assets and then highlight those attributes. Confidence is contagious - love yourself and others will be drawn to you.
Do not fixate on change
While change and progress is a good thing, do not obsess over qualities that you feel aren't your best assets. This will do nothing for you self-esteem. Instead, focus on those that you love, and accentuate your positive aspects. Bringing light to your best assets will always positively impact your self-acceptance and boost your overall confidence. Beauty is certainty - knowing what you’re capable of and having faith in oneself.
Do not overdo it
Today everyone has access to thousands of cosmetic products and cosmetic procedures. Always be conscious not to overdo it in this department. Too much skin care, makeup, even plastic surgery, usually ends up with less than desirable results. Again, make an effort to be the most beautiful you inside and out with cosmetics that enhance your features. If you do choose a cosmetic procedure, choose wisely and conservatively as sometimes overdone results can be difficult to reverse
Remember that highlighting your outer beauty starts from within. Make it a point to focus on being the best and most glamorous you from the inside out. Insert plenty of water and exercise into your lifestyle for a healthy, hydrated glow, and incorporate a fresh, balanced diet into your daily routine. Doing so, will help you to look and feel you’re portraying your best self.
What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy, or infra-red therapy, is a form of phototherapy, which involves being exposed to specific wavelengths of light using various light sources. Red light therapy penetrates deeper into the skin than other light wavelengths and is believed to help rejuvenate skin. Red light is also commonly used to treat skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, as well as help ease pain and even accelerate the healing of wounds.
How Does Red Light THerapy WOrk?
Unlike other wavelengths, red light is absorbed into the skin to a depth of about 10mm where it can heat and positively affect cells within the body.
what are the benefits?
There are many benefits of red light therapy. It has been shown that the red light can increase circulation and therefore oxygenation and nutrient delivery to the skin, as well as increase the activity of fibroblasts, which aid the production of collagen and elastin. The improved circulation can reduce inflammations and aid lymphatic drainage which clears waste products away from the skin. It can also promote the production of DNA and ATP (cell energy).
Red light therapy can, therefore, be used to treat or complement treatment of a number of conditions. From reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to soothing psoriasis and eczema. When treated using an appropriate light source and regimen it can work very successfully, with noticeably results very quickly.
How long does it take for Red Light therapy to work?
Patients can experience a reduction in symptoms quickly – even as early as after their first treatments session. Better results are found with more treatments, but results are long-lasting and can continue for weeks after the final treatment.
Does wellaholic offer Red Light Therapy?
Wellaholic offers an AfterGlow Treatment as part of the Elight Facial Collagen Boost DELUXE and PRESTIGE package Unlimited package.
Infrared LED light therapy uses concentrated beams of light to help remove skin blemishes, especially on the face. In general, infrared light therapy uses a combination of red light and infrared light to promote skin health because the Light-emitting diode (LED) lights emit light at red and infrared wavelengths. The red light helps stimulate healing, which can treat acne scars, rosacea, age spots and blemishes caused by broken capillaries. Infrared therapy tends to be used to treat wrinkles and other problems caused by poor skin support, such as translucent skin or coarse skin.
At this point, you’ve no doubt heard the hype around retinol. Like the garden gnome from Amélie, the trusted skincare ingredient has a tendency to show up everywhere—from prescription acne creams to over-the-counter wrinkle reducers. But it’s not always clear when you should use retinol, or what it can do to improve skin. Birchbox tapped Dr. Jennifer Linder, a dermatologist and Mohs skin cancer surgeon, for the 4-1-1 on this multiuse skincare ingredient.
What is retinol?
Retinol is simply another name for vitamin A. It’s a type of retinoid, the family of chemical compounds related to vitamin A. Other retinoids include: retinoic acid (also known as tretinoin), retinyl palmitate, and retinaldehyde, all of which can be found in skincare products. Tretinoin is the active ingredient in Retin-A, the prescription acne cream, while adapalene—another retinoid—is the active ingredient in Differin Gel. In addition to being a trusted treatment for acne, retinol is famous for its antiaging properties, cropping up in a range of antiwrinkle and skin-brightening products of every stripe.
What does it do?
When retinol and other retinoids come into contact with skin, enzymes in the body convert the retinol into retinoic acid, the active form of the vitamin, according to Dr. Linder. This is the special sauce that goes to work on skin cells in a variety of helpful ways. Namely, retinoic acid works to increase cell turnover, stimulate collagen and elastin production, fade hyperpigmentation, and help skin stay hydrated and glowing without irritation. Thanks to all this healthy turnover, retinol can treat and prevent everything from stubborn cystic acne and eczema to sun-induced wrinkles and dark spots.
What skin types is it suitable for?
Some retinoids are harsher than others. Pure retinoic acid applied directly to the skin, for example, can cause irritation. If you've got sensitive skin, retinol is a milder—yet equally effective—alternative. “By using pure retinol you reduce the instances of irritation while still getting the benefits of retinoic acid,” explains Dr. Linder. Finding a formula that straddles the gentle vs. effective divide is key: For Wellaholic, we have adjusted the concentration in our Flawless Face Serum to a gentler Retinyl Palmitate - which is more gentle on the skin with less side effects. This allows the serum to be applied on a daily basis, just before you sleep.
Our Flawless Face Serum is also included in Wellaholic's Elight Facial Collagen Boost DELUXE and PRESTIGE plans.
Can one retinol product do double-duty against acne and wrinkles?
“Regardless of the reason for using a retinoid, all of the benefits will be apparent,” says Linder. You may reap some of the wrinkle-fighting benefits from a product designed to treat acne, and vice-versa. But take note: You may not see equal improvement on both counts. “These medications are often only marketed and approved to treat certain conditions, so the use for other conditions would be considered ‘off label,’” says Dr. Linder. (But it’s sure nice to know that regular use of a retinoid acne cream—like the aforementioned Differin—could help stave off a premature wrinkle or two.)

Dear Valued Customers,
Adjustment to Wellaholic's Cancel/Reschedule Policy
Lately, we have seen a sharp increase of customers cancelling and rescheduling their appointments at the last moment, as well as customers who did not turn up for their appointments and who remained uncontactable when our staff tried calling them on their mobile. In addition, there are some customers who had took advantage of our online booking system by making multiple bookings of the same treatment type either for the same day or across a week, but with the intention of only coming for one of the bookings ‘depending on their availability’ (as quoted by these customers). These instances had unfortunately resulted in slots wastage, denied our regular and new customers an opportunity to book their preferred slots, and adversely impacted the overall customer experience that we at Wellaholic strive to provide.
Therefore, to ensure we are able to consistently provide excellent services to all customers, with effect from 1 May 2018, any rescheduling and/or cancellations (including ‘no-shows’) made less than 24 hours prior to the pre-arranged appointment’s start time, will result in a shortening by 1 weekof the customer's existing package’s validity for Unlimited treatment plans, or by 1 session for session-based packages.
How will this benefit our Customers?
We believe by adjusting our Cancel/Reschedule Policy, we will be able to reduce capacity and slots wastage especially during the peak hours of the day, thereby paving the way for more customers to be able to come for their treatments at their preferred slots. We will also be able to reflect a more accurate status of our slots availability in our online booking system on a real-time basis, hence allowing customers to have more slots to choose from.
Customers are encourage to make their cancellations/rescheduling at least 24 hours before their appointments. Please also remember to arrive on time – in the event that you are late, there might be a possibility that we might attend to the customer next-in-line first, as customers who are punctual for their appointments should not be penalised and have their treatments delayed substantially.
Our online booking system will also send all customers reminder emails on their appointments. Please do check your email inboxes, including Spam/Junk mailboxes, for the email reminders.
Ways to Cancel or Reschedule appointments
For any changes to your bookings, please kindly:
a. Call us at 68168038 during office hours
b. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
c. Reach out to us via our online chat
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any queries or clarifications to make.
We sincerely thank you for your deep understanding on this. We believe with your kind support, we can create more ideal slots for all our customers. Thank you!

A massage is supposed to be a soothing, relaxing experience. So why do so many people arrive at 1:30 for a 1:30 massage? You should be in your robe already! And if you arrive late, in a frenzied state, you might as well have not come.
Getting there early is the most important tip for enjoying your massage. But there are plenty more. Hint -- don't eat a big sausage sub right before you get there, and be sure to speak up if you don't like the pressure.
Here are some tips to help you enjoy your massage.
* Don't eat just before a massage session. Your body will be digesting the food, and you don't want to feel uncomfortably full. A light meal two hours before is a good idea.
* Be on time. If you arrive in a frenzied, rushed state, it will take longer to relax. If you're going to a private practitioner or a place like Massage Envy, where you just take off your clothes in the room, you don't have to get there more than five or ten minutes in advance. But if it's a spa with all the amenities, you need time to check in, get oriented to the facilities, change into your robe, enjoy a sauna or steam bath, take a refreshing shower to get the sweat off and have a cup of tea in the relaxation lounge. Try to get there 30 minutes to an hour in advance, depending on how much you like to do.
* If you don't want to remove all your clothing, discuss it with the therapist.
Wear what you will be comfortable in that will allow the therapist to work on the areas of your body that need it.
* Good communication is very important. Before the session, give accurate health information and let the massage therapist know what you want from the massage. During the massage session, Speak up if you have any feedback on the amount of pressure, speed of movement, room temperature, music volume, or lighting.
* Some people like to talk during a massage session, while others remain silent. In general you should do whatever you feel like, and the massage therapist will follow your lead.
* Breathing helps to facilitate relaxation. People often stop breathing when they feel anxious or a sensitive area is massaged. If you realize this is happening, remind yourself to breath.
* Try not to tighten up during the massage. Let your massage therapist know if this is happening. They may need to adjust the massage technique being used. They may also be able to help you relax the affected area.
* If you find your thoughts are racing during the massage, one way to be more "body-centered" and to quiet the mind is to follow the hands of the massage therapist and focus on how the touch feels.
* If anything happens during the massage that you dislike or seems improper, you have the right to ask the massage therapist to stop. If necessary, you also have the right to end the session.
* If you are dizzy or light headed after the massage, do not get off the table too fast.
* Drink extra water after a massage to help flush out the body. Usually a therapist will bring you some water and remind you of this.
* Allow for some open, quiet time after your massage session if possible.
Go to the meditation lounge and have a cup of tea or enjoy a rest. Sometimes the body needs a little time to integrate or absorb the results of the massage session. It's a good idea to give yourself "re-entry" time.
Remember, massage has its greatest benefits over time. The therapeutic effects of massage are cumulative, so the more often a person gets a massage, the better he or she will feel and the more quickly one’s body will respond. If you are getting massage to address chronic muscular tension or recovery from a soft tissue injury, more than one session is usually needed, so be prepared to schedule several sessions.
Come to our Lavender outlet for a massage to relax and loosen up your body! Our therapists are available on a daily basis:
Foot / Back Massage
$26 for 30 minutes
$38 for 60 minutes
Full Body Massage
$56 for 60 minutes

Further reading on the science behind Elight Facial Collagen Boost, especially with the Radio Frequency energy. Note that repeated low energy RF treatments are more effective than a single high energy.
[read extract below]
Devices such as Thermage and Pellevé, use RF energy to selectively heat the deep dermis and subcutaneous fibrous septae, causing cleavage of hydrogen bonds in the collagen fibres and subsequent collagen denaturation. The following inflammatory and proliferatory stages of healing are believed to then stimulate new deposition and restructuring of collagen fibres, resulting in tightening of the skin over the ensuing months
It has been shown that non-ablative RF treatments require repeated low energy RF treatments rather than a single high energy insult to produce the most noticeable improvements in skin laxity, as lower energies result in less heating and therefore less risk of burns.4,5 In addition, the use of lower energies results in a reduction of discomfort and reduced risk of burn injuries.4,5 As well as skin tightening, there is evidence that non nonablative RF treatments are also effective as a treatment for active acne vulgaris.6
Deep skin tightening, reduction of acne scarring, improvement of keloid/hypertrophic scars, stretch marks and ablation of rosacea/ thread veins can be achieved using fractional RF methods.7
Wellaholic is extending our operational hours.
As part of Wellaholic's commitment to you, our customers, we will be extending our opening hours till 10pm during weekdays, and till 8pm during weekends and Public Holidays. This will start from early March onwards for a test period to gauge demand.
We will also be extending our male therapist services on a daily basis.
The evidence is compelling that red wine has health benefits.
Most interesting is the observation that resveratrol found in red wine improves the overall health and substantially prolongs the life of fungi, fish and mice.
It's a phytoalexin found in high concentrations in red grape skin that helps fight infections by fungi and certain bacteria.
The molecule is thought to be an antioxidant that helps prevent cell damage from powerful oxidants that are produced during normal metabolism.
Already called an anti-aging drug, the mechanism, by which it prolongs life in animals, is unknown.
Alcohol in moderation also has health benefits. Over 60 research studies have shown that moderate consumption of alcohol reduces the risk of a heart attack.
The benefits only occur if no more than one or two drinks are consumed daily. Any more and the risks of heart attacks and death increases.
Much of the initial information comes from the intriguing observation that despite the fact that the saturated fat content of the French diet is much higher than the average American diet, paradoxically the prevalence of heart attacks is half that found in the U.S.
This reduced risk cannot be explained by lower cholesterol, more exercise, less stress or less obesity among the French. Careful analysis of all factors that could explain the difference pointed to the increased consumption of alcohol and red wine.
Resveratrol isn't the only compound in wine with health benefits. Antioxidants called polyphenols that are found in high concentrations in grape skin are believed to reduce the risk of heart attacks.
The highest amounts of polyphenols are in Cabernets and in wines from France as compared to other countries.
Fats that become oxidized are much more likely to accumulate in the wall of arteries leading to plaques. Not only do polyphenol prevent fat deposition, but also prevent blood clotting by impairing the ability of platelets to stick to damaged arteries and causing a blood clot.
These antioxidants also appear to reduce inflammation in blood vessels decreasing cholesterol deposition and the risk of spasm of a partial blockage of an artery occurs.
Recently, a substance called saponin found in red wine has been shown to raise the good or HDL cholesterol and modestly reduce the bad or LDL cholesterol.
Saponin binds cholesterol and prevents its absorption into the bloodstream from the bowel. Some maintain that saponin is the most potent agent in red wine protecting the heart — and its concentration is highest in California Zinfandels.
Whenever a dietary effect is found to exert a health effect, the compounds thought to be responsible are purified and offered in health food stores in massive doses.
Of course, if a little is good, a lot must be better. Already, Dr. David Sinclair, a researcher at Harvard, recommends taking large doses of resveratrol in tablet form in the hope of reducing the risk of heart attacks, improving health and prolonging life.
His rational is based on the fact that the doses of resveratrol required to prolong life in mice were a 1,000 fold higher than that found in two glasses of wine.
While research studies are underway to find out if resveratrol in varying doses prolongs life or prevents disease, to date no benefits of large doses have been reported in man.
And it's still too early to know if large doses are truly safe. And remember this, while a little Vitamin C, A and E in natural foods has been shown to have health benefits in man, so-called massive or mega doses do the exact opposite; instead of helping they increase the risk of heart attack, cancer, Alzheimer’s and shorten life expectancy.
They, too, are antioxidants with a similar mechanism of action to resveratrol.
In talking to many friends who are true wine enthusiasts, they all recommend moderation and emphasize the importance of the true pleasure of enjoying a good wine with a meal.
The evidence is compelling that two glasses of wine with a meal has significant health benefits.
Wellaholic retails our W+ Resveratrol which contains 200mg of trans-resveratrol for your daily supplementary needs. Preferably to be taken just before you go to bed.
